Conference “India and Central Asia: Facing the Challenges together and Prospects for Cooperative Peace”

In accordance with the scientific-research work plan of the Faculty of International Relations of the Gumilev Eurasian National University for 2013, the 1-st Eurasian Regional Studies Conference will be held on September 25-26, 2013 in cooperation with the Department of Regional Studies and the Center for Researches Rural and Industrial Development (Chandigarh, India).

A common theme for the Conference is “India and Central Asia: Facing the Challenges together and Prospects for Cooperative Peace”.
Major themes of the conference are:
- Security in South and Central Asia: Theory and Practice
- Economic modernization as a factor of sustainable development
- The geopolitical situation and the "Great Powers" policy in South and Central Asia
- Social processes in South and Central Asia
- Ethno-linguistic and ethno-cultural processes in the regions of South and Central Asia.

Participating in the conference are experts in regional and international issues, historians, orientalists, doctoral students and graduate students working on research projects close to the conference topics.
