XXVIII CHARAX FORUM

The Forum will take place in the palace and park of the former manor of the Grand Duke Georgiy Michailovich Romanov in Charax (Yalta, Crimea, Russia)

Program of the Forum:
12 May. Opening of the Forum. Round table “The Orthodox Tradition and Projects of the Future” (in commemoration of Alexander Panarin).
13 May. International conference “The Eastern Vector in the International Political Processes and the New Contours of the Multipolar World”.
14–15 May. International Workshop “Ethnicity and Power. Conflict Management and Peaceful Strategies of the Sustainable Development of Multiethnic Communities”
16 May. Closing of the Forum. Cultural and sightseeing program.


Our discourse shall include the following topics:
- Strategic priorities in the system of international relations and formation of the new world order in the 21st century;
- New centers of power as a response to the challenges of the monopolar world;
- Dialogue of cultures and civilizations: axiological dimension of the international political processes;
- Ethnic mobilization and extreme forms of political behavior;
- Construction of the ethnic and religious identity and new challenges for the security;
- Ethnicity, religion and politics in cultural and symbolic field of the living space;
- Virtualization of the everyday life and construction of the conflict of generations;
- Collective memory and metamorphoses of identity;
- Space and time as political and cultural phenomena;
- Image of enemy and its role in international and ethnic conflicts;
- Role of mass media in ethnic and political mobilization;
- Soft power: technologies and counter-technologies;
- Love and power in the structure of everyday life: from the universal meanings to the technologies of overcoming hostility and hatred in politics;
- Verbal dimension of political conflicts: psycho-linguistic discourse in political science;
- Economics, morality and politics: ethical paradoxes of the post-soviet capitalism;
- Politics and intellectuals: service to the society or serving the power?

The list of issues is open for continuation.

Chairs of the Organizing Committee of the Forum:
Dr. Tatiana Senyushkina, Professor, Doctor in Public Administration, professor of the Department of Political Science and International Relations, Crimean Federal V.I. Vernadsky University (Simferopol, Republic of Crimea, Russia).
Dr. Andrey Baranov, Professor, Doctor in Political Science, Doctor in History, professor of the Department of Political Science and Political Management, Kuban State University (Krasnodar, Russia).

After the Forum abstracts of presentations and articles of participants will be published.

Travel and accommodation are at expense of participants. Estimated cost of accommodation is from 2 000 RUB per night (the prices may vary depending on the rate of inflation).

Participants are invited to look for accommodation at Villa Charax www.villa-harax.com and Sanatorium Dnepr www.dnepryalta.com.
It is important to send accommodation requests as early as possible since the number of rooms at Villa Charax is limited.

Registration fee for participation in the Forum is 5 000 RUB to be paid upon arrival, for an accompanying person – 3 000 RUB. It is also possible to have a distance participation (registration fee is 3 000 RUB).

Registration fee includes publication (5 pages abstract), conference materials (badge, program, list of participants), certificate of participation, coffee breaks, symphonic concert, and welcoming dinner.

Participants will be also offered guided tours to the palaces and parks of the Southern coast of Crimea (Livadia Palace, Vorontsov Palace in Alupka, the Palace of Alexander III in Massandra); to the Massandra winery with degustation of the best Crimean wines; to the Nikitsky Botanical Garden; to Anton Chekhov memorial house in Yalta; to the itinerary “Orthodox churches of the Southern coast of Crimea”. Moreover they will have an opportunity to enjoy salubrious air of the Southern coast of Crimea, high intellectual level and interesting conversations.

The working language: Russian, English.
